NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - As the College football postseason gets into swing, the Southeastern Conference has announced its All-SEC Coaches’ Football Teams to honor the accomplishments from the regular season.

When it comes to the Volunteer State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt were represented among the All-SEC honors.

Six Vols made the cut:

  • Running back Dylan Sampson (1st)
  • Center Cooper Mays (1st)
  • Edge rusher James Pearce Jr. (1st)
  • Cornerback Jermod McCoy (2nd)
  • Guard Javontez Spraggins (3rd)
  • Kickoff specialist Josh Turbyville (3rd)

Sampson was selected on the first team as both a running back and all-purpose recipient, becoming the first Tennessee RB to earn first-team honors since Travis Stephens in 2001.

As for Vandy, four Commodores were honored:

  • Tight end Eli Stowers (1st)
  • Punter Jesse Mirco (2nd)
  • Return specialist Martel Hight (2nd)
  • Kicker Brock Taylor (3rd)

“Vanderbilt has not had more All-SEC selections in a single season since five in the 2005 campaign—WR Earl Bennett, QB Jay Cutler, LB Moses Osemweigie, TE Dustin Dunning and OL Brian Stamper,” Vandy said.

“Thirteen Southeastern Conference schools placed a member on the 2024 All-SEC Coaches’ Football First Team, as voted on by the league’s head coaches. The first, second and third teams were announced Tuesday. Alabama and Ole Miss led the way with four representatives on the first team, while Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina had three,” the SEC said.

Later in the week, the SEC is set to release the individual award winners on Wednesday and the All-Freshman Team on Thursday.
