NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Update: The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the total clearance time for the wreck involving a tractor-trailer in Hickman County has been pushed back.
Crews are still on the scene working to clear the roadway.
The tractor-trailer was carrying thousands of pounds of produce when it overturned, blocking I-40 East at mile marker 162.
Earlier: Traffic is being affected on Interstate 40 East after a tractor-trailer carrying thousands of pounds of produce overturned in Hickman County on Thursday morning.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation reports that at about 11:40 a.m. the eastbound lanes of I-40 were closed after a tractor-trailer rollover. Traffic is being diverted at Mile Marker 148.
TDOT crews are continuing to work to clear lanes after the tractor-trailer carrying 40,000 pounds of produce overturned. The crash is estimated to be cleared by 8 p.m.
At about 1:30 p.m., TDOT issued an update saying that lane two is now open in that area.
