Crash involving multiple vehicles blocks part of I-840 in Rutherford County
Eastbound lanes of Interstate 840 in Rutherford County shut down because of a crash with multiple vehicles.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - UPDATE: As of 10:57 a.m. the road has reopened.
PREVIOUS: All eastbound lanes of Interstate 840 in Rutherford County were blocked because of a crash involving multiple vehicles, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
The crash happened around 6:42 a.m. on Thursday at mile marker 61 on I-840 Eastbound.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) closed that portion of I-840 East and began diverting traffic at Exit 57, the Sulphur Springs Road exit.
The road is expected to be closed until about 10:30 a.m.
TDOT, RCSO and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to the crash.
The RCSO said THP is investigating the crash.
