Goodlettsville settles with sober driver charged with DUI
Jeff Adams’ attorney sent the city a letter stating their intention to sue
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The city of Goodlettsville has settled with a sober driver, charged with DUI, who threatened to sue.
As featured in our “Sobering Problem” investigations, Jeff Adams was arrested on Sept. 6, 2023, charged with DUI as he was on his way to work as a schoolteacher in Brentwood.
Adams’ bloodwork later showed that he was completely sober.
Our investigation also showed that the same officer who arrested Adams also charged two other sober drivers for DUI.
Adams’s attorney then sent a letter threatening to sue.
A settlement release obtained by WSMV4 Investigates shows the city paid Adams $5,000 and did not admit wrongdoing.
Adams tells WSMV4 Investigates that he is satisfied with the amount.
