NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two First Alert Weather Days have been issued for Wednesday and Thursday due to disruptive weather that could impact travel plans ahead of Thanksgiving.

Scattered rain showers and a few thunderstorms are expected in the Midstate. While no severe weather is expected, heavy rain could cause delays on roadways.

The same storm system could also bring snow to some areas of the U.S. and that could lead to delays in air travel, as well. Places like Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and New York City could see a mix of rain and snow that could make for tricky travel.

Rain showers will impact surrounding areas of Middle Tennessee like Lexington, St. Louis, Memphis and stretching east toward Washington, D.C.

Locally, we’re just expecting periods of rain on both Wednesday and Thursday. Some rain will be heavy at times, so give yourself enough time on the interstates. We look to dry out by Friday.
