KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Ticket resellers like SeatGeek, TickPick and StubHub are reporting that a decent chunk of Tennessee — Ohio State resale tickets are being bought up out of the Volunteer State.

WVLT News reached out to several ticket sellers, and SeatGeek gave us a breakdown of the top geographic regions for ticket resales:

  • Tennessee: 41%
  • Ohio: 24%
  • California: 4%

It’s a similar story for TickPick, which provided its own breakdown:

  • Tennessee: 40.7%
  • Ohio: 25.9%
  • Florida: 4.1%
  • Georgia: 3.5%

That means almost double the number of those ticket sales are coming from Tennessee than Ohio.

Tennessee and Ohio are a little closer matched on StubHub:

  • Tennessee: 37%
  • Ohio: 34%

StubHub also shared some interesting statistics with WVLT News, saying that Tennessee’s game has outsold every other first-round matchup.

“Even though the game is in Ohio, were seeing more buyers from Tennessee buying tickets on StubHub than people who are in Ohio,” said StubHub spokesperson Joseph Bocanegra. “It’s certainly more rare, especially this late in the game with the holidays. You have a lot of things going on this time of year.”

Speaking of statistics, UT System President Randy Boyd shared some insight right from the source.

He said on X (formerly Twitter) that he had spoken to Ohio State President Ted Carter, who said he thought the stadium could be almost one-third orange.

It’s a safe bet to assume that there will be plenty of Vol fans at the Horseshoe on Dec. 21. Ticket prices are also falling; as of Tuesday, SeatGeek is reporting the average ticket price at $465.

We’ve also got questions out to other ticket sellers, like Ticketmaster. We’ll update this story as we learn more.
