KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee outscored MTSU 48-24 in the second half of Monday’s contest in Knoxville, overcoming a 40-34 halftime deficit to take down the Blue Raiders 82-64.

The halftime deficit was the first the Volunteers have faced this season.

The win improves Tennessee to 12-0, the program’s best start since the 1922-23 season.

Chaz Lanier led the way with 23 points. Zakai Zeigler added 17 points and a career-high 15 assists.

The Vols will return to action to close out 2024 against Norfolk State on New Year’s Eve. Tipoff is set for 3:00 inside Food City Center.
