Man pays for parking in Hillsboro Village, gets ticket anyway
Steven Puckett received a parking violation less than an hour after paying to park for 24 hours.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - People are getting parking tickets in Hillsboro Village even after they properly paid for their spot.
They are now having issues trying to dispute it with the parking company.
Steven Puckett paid $40 to park for 24 hours in the lot. “Me and my wife, we usually celebrate at the Supper Club,” Puckett said. “We were having a night out on the town.”
Less than an hour and a half after paying, a $35 parking violation was placed on Puckett’s car, even though he was well within the 24-hour parking window he had paid for. The ticket said that the cost more than triples if not paid within 30 days. A month later, Puckett got a reminder letter in the mail.
“My first question is, how did you get my address for the ticket,” Puckett said.
Puckett said his calls and emails to Park Happy have gone unanswered for two months now.
WSMV4 Investigates called and emailed the company as well and are waiting on a response.
As busy as the lot gets, Puckett has a word of advice for other drivers. “I would tell them to check their ticket and keep it,” Puckett said.
