NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man is accused of spray painting a swastika on the glass front door of the Nashville Public Library’s Green Hills branch and leaving ‘harassing’ voicemails to Green Hills Community Church.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said Charles Maguire, 49, was arrested Monday night.

MNPD said Maguire vandalized the library on December 14 and left harassing voicemails on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and December 30.

Maguire had been told to leave the library before he spray-painted the glass doors, MNPD said.

This was not the first time Maguire vandalized property or harassed the Green Hills Community Church.

MNPD said he has a history of harassing and threatening behavior toward the church.

Maguire was arrested on November 30 for leaving harassing messages directed at the church and for vandalizing the Mental Health Cooperative. MNPD said he poured a bottle of apparent urine through a window slot.

Maguire posted a $3,000 bond on charges related to the November 30 incident and was released.

On the new charges, his bond was set at $2,000, according to MNPD.
