NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - It just means more. The Southeastern Conference dominates the sport of college football regarding total viewership per game, so, Netflix is looking to take advantage of that with a new docu-series.

The streaming giant is set to release a documentary series in the summer of 2025 following the 2024 SEC college football season.

“Whether you’re a die-hard college football fan or haven’t paid attention to it since you were in college yourself, an upcoming show will immerse you in the glories of the game. On Dec. 18, Netflix announced production of a season-long series that follows the sport’s most dominant conference, the Southeastern Conference (SEC), during the 2024 season,” Netflix shared.

The series will be produced by the same company behind such breakthrough sports docs as Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and Full Swing. The SEC docu-series will showcase stories from the field, locker rooms, team buses, barbershops, and more.

“This behind-the-scenes docuseries will bring all the drama and pageantry of Southeastern Conference Football to a worldwide Netflix audience,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey told Netflix.

There’s no SEC bias here, according to Nielsen, eight of the top 10 most-watched teams of the 2024 season belong to the Southeastern Conference.
