NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The New York Jets have completed an interview with ex-Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson.

The Jets, who haven’t made the NFL Playoffs since 2010, are working on changes following two straight losing seasons following the signing of four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Robinson found success in Tennessee by drafting players like running back Derrick Henry and safety Kevin Byard, among others. The Titans were able to reach the 2019 AFC Championship game with him as the GM.

However, he was later fired in December of 2022 after the Titans lost two straight games and were atop of the AFC South Division with a 7-5 record at the time.

Many Titans fans point to a trade that sent star wide receiver AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles and brought Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks to Tennessee by way of the NFL Draft. The Titans traded Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles and along with the 18th pick, received the 101st from the Eagles — Brown later signed an extension with Philly.

During his time with the Eagles, Brown has recorded nearly 1,500 receiving seasons with nearly 1,000 yards on the books so far in the 2024 season. He’s also scored nearly 25 touchdowns during that period.

As for Burks, his tenure with the Titans hasn’t panned out as hoped. So far, Burks has recorded one touchdown on 699 receiving yards since 2022. The wide out has dealt with multiple injuries since joining the NFL.
