Mid-state represented well in BlueCross Bowl
Seven of 18 teams playing for TSSAA state football titles come from the middle part of the state.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - This week is when champions are made. The BlueCross Bowl renews in Chattanooga with nine games in three days, crowning nine state champions.
Middle Tennessee is well represented in the field. BGA plays CPA in Division II, AA title game. It’s the first game of the week on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Then Columbia Academy and Nashville Christian meet up in the Division II A title game.
On Friday, Macon County will play for its first championship in program history when they take on Melrose in the 4A title game.
Also on Friday, the Page Patriots are in the Division I, 5A title game for the 4th straight season. They’ve failed to win it the previous three times. This year, they meet up with Sevier County.
Then on Saturday night, the Oakland Patriots square off with Houston. Kevin Creasy’s crew has won the 6A title three out of the last four years. They look to raise the trophy again.
The high school football season comes to an end this week.
