BUDAPEST, Hungary (WSMV) - The Walsh sisters continue to put their stamp on the swimming world after stellar performances in Budapest, Hungary, on Tuesday.

Gretchen and Alex, the pride of The Harpeth Hall School and both decorated Olympians, once again donned the red, white, and blue, this time for Team USA at the World Swimming Championships.

The younger Walsh was responsible for two world records in Budapest: 50m Butterfly and 4x100 Freestyle Relay.

Gretchen came in under the world record in the 50m Butterfly twice, with a time of 24:02 during the preliminary rounds, then an even better time of 23.94 in her semifinal swim. Gretchen is the first woman to finish the 50m Butterfly under 24 seconds.

The finals for the 50m Butterfly is scheduled for Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. CT.

Gretchen was also part of another world record on Tuesday, and this one brought gold home for Team USA. Her 4x100 Freestyle Relay team of Alex Shackell, Katharine Berkoff, and Kate Douglass shattered the old record with a time of 3:25:01.

Meanwhile, Alex Walsh is also turning heads in Hungary. She posted a time of 2:02:65 in the 200m Individual Medley on Tuesday - good enough for a silver medal. Fellow USA swimmer, Kate Douglass, took the gold in this event.
