Roads in Great Smoky Mountains close for winter weather
The park made the announcement Monday morning, saying the roads would close ahead of forecasted winter weather.

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) - Newfound Gap Road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will close at 3 p.m. Monday.
The park made the announcement Monday morning, saying the road would close ahead of forecasted winter weather. The road runs between Gatlinburg and Cherokee.
As of Tuesday morning, not only was Newfound Gap still closed, but Little River Road and Lakeview Drive were also shut down.
