Man accused of stabbing man in the neck at Nashville bar, report says

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man was arrested for stabbing another man in the neck at a Nashville bar, according to an arrest affidavit.

On Aug. 29, Metro Nashville police officers responded to 5851 Old Hickory Boulevard.

Officers learned that 61-year-old James Smith and another man got into a fight on the bar’s back patio. Smith first hit the victim, Eric Young, in the head with his cane.

Smith grabbed a knife from his pocket and stabbed him in the neck, according to the arrest report.

Police said Young had minor injuries.

Smith was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
