NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Covenant School received a bomb threat via email at their temporary school site Monday morning, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said the threat was sent at about 6 a.m., and an employee alerted law enforcement.

Officers, along with the help of a Tennessee Highway Patrol bomb dog, cleared Brentwood Hills Church of Christ by 11:15 a.m.

“Our Specialized Investigations Division detectives are working with the FBI to investigate the origin of the threat,” MNPD said.

This is a developing story.

It was announced in mid-December last year that The Covenant School would be delaying its return to the main campus. Originally, it was planned that the school would return in January; However, the new plan is for a mid-April return.

“The Covenant School continues to focus on caring for students, families, teachers and staff in what continues to be a difficult time,” the school said. “In considering a variety of factors, the school is planning to return to the Burton Hills campus in April instead of January.”

In March, six people, including three students, were shot and killed inside The Covenant School.
