Only on WSMV4: The final hours of Riley Strain’s life
What police found also raises serious questions for Strain’s fraternity, Delta Chi.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - For the first time, WSMV4 Investigates has uncovered what led up to the drowning death of University of Missouri student Riley Strain.
We’ve obtained the entire police investigation into Strain’s death, including the interviews with Strain’s fraternity members and the alarming amount of alcohol police believe Strain had to drink before his death.

It also answers the question of how Riley could have a blood alcohol level of .228 and still not be deemed, by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission, to not have been “overserved” by Nashville downtown bars.
What police found also raises serious questions for Strain’s fraternity, Delta Chi.
We shared the police investigation with attorney David Easlick, who operated a national fraternity for 29 years and now sues fraternities after students are killed or injured.
“A lot of parents of college students will see this story. What do we learn from this?” asked WSMV4 Investigates.
“All the stuff for parents, how (fraternities) have risk management, they condemn alcohol abuse, it’s baloney,” Easlick said.
The full investigation is Wednesday night on WSMV4 at 6 p.m.
