1 dead after plane crash in Tennessee, official says

MARTIN, Tenn. (WMSV) – Update: The Everett-Stewart Regional Airport released the identity of the man killed in Tuesday’s plane crash in Martin.
They say, Scott Rainey, a long-term ESRA Board Member, Aviator, and AG pilot died in the crash.
“He was an outstanding board member, serving on our Personnel Committee and was Chairman of the Ag Committee. Words can be of little consolation at this time of grief and heartache, but we offer our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Judy, Brycen, and Garett,” ESRA said.
Earlier: One person is dead after a plane crash in West Tennessee, an official said Tuesday morning.
Ray Wiggington, emergency management director for Weakley County, said the pilot was experienced and was flying a newer aircraft – a crop duster– when it went down near Vancleave Road in Martin.
Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are en route to investigate the cause of the crash.
