Police recover gun used in killing of teen at Madison Park
The unknown shooter is believed to live in the Madison Park area, police said.
MADISON, Tenn. (WSMV) – Investigators have made “significant progress” in the search for the suspect in the killing of 16-year-old Justin Robinson at Madison Park, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Robinson was shot and killed off North Dupont Avenue on June 12. The Metro Nashville Police Department released surveillance photos of three people believed to be present during the shooting, but police have a new lead: they now have the gun believed to be involved in the shooting.
The investigation, however, remains ongoing. It shows that Robinson was in the park with a teenage friend when they got into an argument with at least two other young men. It appeared that Robinson and his friend began to walk away when shots were fired at them. Robinson was hit in the back as he was running away, police said, and his friend pulled his own gun and returned fire.
