NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Nashville officers, alongside the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Tennessee Highway Safety officers, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on July 4.

The nighttime DUI checkpoint will happen at Charlotte Pike near Morrow Road. In 2023, there were more than 1,100 crashes in Davidson County that involved impaired drivers, resulting in 40 fatalities, police said.

“The checkpoint is part of the partnership between state and local agencies to enhance traffic safety in greater Nashville,” according to MNPD.

It’s typical for authorities to provide advanced notice for DUI checkpoints as its often a condition of grants used to fund the checkpoint.
