Officer injured while responding to reports of person threatening to ‘shoot up’ South Nashville lounge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - An officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department was injured while responding to reports of a person threatening to “shoot up” a South Nashville lounge over the weekend.

MNPD reports that officers responded to the Lavo Lounge on Antioch Pike at about 3 a.m. for the reported threat.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a large crowd and while attempting to disperse them and investigate the threat, an officer was hit in the head by “unknown means,” according to MNPD.

The officer was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. The officer has since returned to service.

No other details have been released at this time.
