Documentary following Titans’ Super Bowl run, Steve McNair’s murder coming to Netflix
On Aug. 20, Netflix’s UNTOLD is telling the story of the Titans’ 2000 Super Bowl run accompanied by McNair’s 2009 murder.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Netflix is continuing to tell critical stories in the world of sports through its UNTOLD documentary series and in less than a month, the story of Tennessee Titans’ quarterback Steve McNair’s murder will be a focal point in the streaming service’s latest rollout.
On Aug. 20, Netflix’s UNTOLD is telling the story of the Titans’ 2000 Super Bowl run accompanied by McNair’s 2009 murder.
“With new episodes premiering weekly, UNTOLD Volume 4 shares the inside stories of the shocking murder of a former NFL MVP, a college football sign-stealing scandal, and a complicated icon of women’s soccer,” Netflix said.

The episode, titled The Murder of Air McNair, focuses on Tennessee’s most notable QB, his run to the Super Bowl, murder and unanswered questions surrounding his death, the streaming service said. The episode was directed by Rodney Lucas and Taylor Alexander Ward.
In Super Bowl 34, the Titans fell, in dramatic fashion, to the St. Louis Rams 23-16. McNair completed 22 passes for 214 yards and ran for 64 yards. Fast forward to 2009, McNair, 36, was shot and killed by 20-year-old Jenny Kazemi.
