Post-holiday sales attracting shoppers across the Midstate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — Retail experts say the best time for shoppers to take advantage of sales is between Christmas and the new year.

Retailers like Target, Walmart and Amazon are advertising deep discounts following Christmas.

One Nashville shopper told WSMV4, “I was just out running a couple of errands, and I thought I should check out and see if they have any Christmas bargains. I also got some wrapping paper.”

Carol Wolifer said that wrapping paper will get her ahead for the next holiday season, “It was about $3 each. It was half off and they were big rolls so it was a good deal.”

She also bought holiday slippers. She said had she known they were only three dollars she would’ve bought more. That was at Walmart.

Another set of shoppers said the sales were what drew them there.

Shoppers Kristen Womack and Ken Goodhue told WSMV4, “We were going to purchase some bins and we knew they would be on sale so we just kind of used the opportunity to stock up.”

Just in time for a move, “Moving and we’re going to take all the Christmas decorations and put them in there. He has two toddlers so a lot of stuff,” they said.

Retail experts say now is the best time to get stuff for next holiday season, gym accessories and even gym memberships. But they say wait a few weeks for better deals on furniture during Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
