NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department arrested and charged two men with drug possession at the WeGo bus station in downtown Nashville August 7th.

According to authorities, officers observed William Travis Warrick Jr. “shooting up” an unknown substance inside the restroom. Officers said they approached Warrick Jr. outside and noticed a spoon next to him with an unknown substance on it.

Police said they found what appeared to be cocaine and other drugs when they searched his bag.

Police said Warrick Jr. admitted to using heroin inside the restroom. During the investigation police discovered Warrick Jr. had 3 outstanding active warrants.

The same day, police arrested Dontay Levon Lawrence at the WeGo station. According to authorities, Lawrence had an outstanding warrant. Once in police custody, officers discovered a small amount of brown powder believed to be heroin and 2 crack pipes.

Both arrests come as city leaders and WeGo officials work to make safety improvements at the WeGo station.
