BUCHANAN, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) recovered the body of a missing Fort Campbell soldier on Friday.

HCSO said the body of 22-year-old John Jackson was recovered from Kentucky Lake at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Weather paused the search for a missing Fort Campbell soldier on Friday, but at approximately 6:15 p.m., TWRA agents were checking the shoreline near Gray’s Landing and spotted Jackson’s body, HCSO said.

Private First Class John Jackson was reported missing Wednesday after his car was found parked on the bridge at Paris Landing.

Multiple agencies spent Thursday searching Kentucky Lake for signs of Jackson.

Fort Campbell’s 101st Airborne Division spokesperson said the base had been working closely with authorities in the search for PFC Jackson before he was located in the lake.
