Several lanes blocked for hours on I-65 due to overturned semi set to reopen near Franklin
Multiple lanes near the McEwen Drive exit were impacted.
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - Latest: The Franklin Police Department announced that the stretch of Interstate 65 that’s been blocked for hours should reopen at about 4 p.m.
Earlier in the day, sometime before 1 p.m., a semi-truck being hauled by a tow tuck came off the hook and overturned on the roadway.
Update: The Franklin Police Department reports that lanes of Interstate 65 North will be closed for several hours near the McEwen Drive exit.
The semi-truck was being hauled by a tow truck when, for reasons unknown, came off the hook, according to officers working the scene.
No injuries are being reported in this incident.
“Multiple lanes will be closed for several hours. Clean up is already underway,” FPD said.
Earlier: The Franklin Police Department is warning drivers to avoid northbound lanes of I-65 near the McEwen Drive exit.
A semi overturned, blocking several lanes of traffic.
FPD advised drivers to find alternate routes and avoid the area.
