(Gray News) – Team USA has done it again. Rai Benjamin is the 400-meter hurdles Paris Olympic champion and is taking home the gold medal.

Benjamin, 27, was able to explode off the block and beat his rivals when it mattered most.

With a finishing time of 46.46, he edged out ahead of Norway’s Karsten Warholm who was anticipated to win the event and was the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion.

Warholm took home the silver medal with a time of 47.06; Alison Dos Santos, of Brazil, winning bronze with a time of 47.26.
