NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two teenagers were involved in a shooting at a shopping center in Bellevue on Wednesday night that ended with one of them dead, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
MNPD officers responded to a shooting call at 7071 Highway 70 South around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday and found 18-year-old Gavin Dauzart shot and lying in the middle of the parking lot with a pistol on the ground next to him. Raphael Jobehdari, who is 17 years old, was also found shot in the abdomen and leg.
Detectives learned that Dauzart, wearing a mask, approached Jobehdari in a vehicle and they began firing at each other, police said. The two shot each other and Jobehdari ran to the nearby Kroger to hide his gun, which was recovered during the investigation.
Both were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition. Dauzart died from his injuries and Jobehdari remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to MNPD.
Detectives plan to interview Jobehdari once his condition improves.
